'Marg' Black Velvet Vintage Half Hat Making Kit 

This is a great little half hat, dating from the early 1950's. This is a copy of a 'Roth Margit and Helen Clarke- 510 Madison Avenue, New York' design. They were famouse for pleated and draped half hats and hairbands in velvets and silks.

This was my Aunt Margs hat and we think it must have been sent to her by her first cousin Emily, who had emigrated to the US.

With this tutorial you will learn how to build and cover a wire frame.

Construct a half hat on this and then create vintage style fruits and embellishments.
